Launch of Toilet Infrastructure at College of Education Minna

COLLEGE OF EDUCATION MINNA ODF(OPEN DEFECATION FREE) PROJECT

The College of Education Minna is riddled with unimproved sanitary facilities, insufficient sanitary facilities, poor access to water, a high level of OD practices and generally the community performs unsafe WASH practices. In curbing the WASH problems faced by the school, U-Save foundation;

  • Renovated 34 toilets, from an unimproved to an improved form of sanitation facility
  • Constructed 6 new sanitation facilities to increase the number of sanitation facilities in the school
  • Installed surface pumping machines to increase the pressure of water flowing into the sanitation facility
  • Installed a reservoir tank
  • Arranged a WASH seminar, “Achieving the 2025 Target on Open Defecation”, to ensure College of Education Minna is part of the change the Nation seeks

SANITATION & SENSITIZATION ACTIVITY IN KUCHINGORO

sanitation exercise was embarked upon with the involvement of community members in Kuchingoro to clear their surroundings of human waste. Cleaning equipment were donated to the community for better waste management.

The community members were also sensitized on imbibing safe WASH practices to ensure that they live healthier lives. Food was shared to the community members after the activity.
